The story Behind the Celebration
Brett and Daisy met online and when they finally saw each other in Texas, their first date felt like destiny. Brett took Daisy on a peaceful drive through the countryside—trees, open fields, and small towns, everything she loves. That weekend, they both felt something truly special growing between them.
Their long-distance relationship between Tennessee and Texas only strengthened their connection. Through constant communication, shared dreams, and countless little adventures—traveling, hiking, and exploring gardens—they built a love rooted in joy and the natural world.

Proposal
The proposal felt like something out of a dream.
Brett took Daisy to the land he had bought for the life they plan to build together in East Tennessee. They walked down to the Obey (pronounced “Oh-Bee”) river that borders their property, dipped their feet in the water, and there—surrounded by the sound of the flowing stream and the shade of the trees—he asked her to be his wife. Just moments after he slipped the beautiful ring onto her finger, the sky opened and rain began to fall. They laughed, hugged, kissed, and stood there, soaked and blissfully happy, listening to the river and feeling the rain around them. Daisy never imagined the proposal would happen in a place so magical and meaningful to them both. It was perfect—unexpected, natural, and filled with love.

The hotel offers excellent amenities such as access to the Village Pool, Excercise Facility and Self-Care Studio. The Drey is conveniently located just north of Dallas in the Highland Park neighborhood with great parks, restaurants and shopping just minutes away in addition to those located within The Village itself! Check-in begins Friday at 3:00 PM, and check-out is Sunday at 11:00 AM. We can’t wait to spend the weekend together, relax, and celebrate this special occasion in one place.

Flying? – Travel time between the Drey Hotel (5630 Village Glen Dr, Dallas, TX 75206) and Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Love Field (DAL) is approximately thirty and twenty minutes respectively depending on traffic. Ride share apps (e.g., Uber, Lyft) along with taxi services are readily available from both airports. Please reach out to us with any questions. We want to help make your arrival and departure go as smoothly as possible and without stress!
Driving? – If you live in the area or are planning to drive to Dallas for the wedding, the Drey Hotel offers convenient parking options including valet.
Wedding Ceremony Transportation – We’ve got this covered too! A shuttle service between The Drey Hotel and the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens will be provided.
Getting around town while here – As mentioned above, the Drey Hotel is conveniently located just north of downtown Dallas with tons of fun things to do within minutes of where you’re staying!
